Ghanaian To Referee Kotoko-Police Match?

Sat, 19 Oct 2002 Source: Ebenezer Ofori Anim (in Congo)

It's barely 24hours from kick-off and the Zimbabwean officals for AS Police - Asante Kotoko Cup Winners Cup semi-final duel are yet to arrive in Brazzaville.

Sources close to me is that they are encountering flight problems, they were expected to arrive this morning but failed to do so. Meanwhile reports reaching the Congolese FA indicates that they will be arriving this afternoon, 2pm local time.

The Cameroonian match commissioner is already in town for the match and even visited Kotoko yesterday at their Marine Hotel. The pre-match meeting which was schedule for this morning have been re-scheduled for this even around 6pm local time, due to the late arrival of the referees.

If by tomorrow afternoon the Zimbabwean referees fail to turn up then Ghanaian FIFA referee Alhassan Iddrissu will be in the centre of affairs according to FIFA/CAF regulations.

Moreover the kick-off time have been change from 4pm local time (3pm Ghanaian time) to 3:30pm local time (2:30pm Ghanaian time).
