The Ghanaian youngster has made the Portuguese U19 provisional squad ahead of the European Championship in Germany next month
Ghanaian-born Asumah Abubakar-Ankrah has been handed a place in Portugal's U19 squad ahead of the 2016 Uefa U19 Championship holding in Germany.
Portugal are pitted against the host nation, Italy and Austria in Group A and will open preparations on June 5 at the Soccer City in Lisbon.
The 19-year-old joined Dutch Eredivise club Willem II Tilburg youth side from Ghanaian second-tier team Corners Babies in March, but has been promoted to first team thanks to his impressive performance.
Although Ankrah made only two appearances in his maiden campaign in the Eredivise last season, he played a role in the club's fight to maintain top-flight status, following a 3-1 aggregate win over Go Ahead Eagles.
Ankrah is also on the radar of Ghana despite declining an opportunity to represent the West Africans' U17 team in the past. He is still eligible to play for the Black Stars.
