Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan scored a double for Al Ain in the UAE Pro League on Thursday while defenders Harrison Afful scored for Esperance in their victory in the CAF Champions League on Sunday to propel them to the knock stages.

Winger Ernest Asante scored twice for IK Start in Norway while David Accam, Matthew Amoah, Randy Edwini-Bonsu and Shaibu Yakubu all scored for their various clubs abroad.

Sulley Muntari suffered an injury while in action for AC Milan in the Serie A on Saturday and was replaced by Michael Essien.

SWEDEN

Ghana forward David Accam scored a 19th minute equaliser for Helsingborg IF against Djurgarden but the tie was called off due to crowd violence. Ghanaian compatriot Ema Boateng sat on the Helsingborg bench. Daniel Amartey also started the game for Djurgarden but Yussif Chibsah was on the bench.

Godsway Donyoh played 70 minutes for newly promoted Falkenbergs who suffered a 3-0 baptism at Malmo FF.

Kwame Bonsu was on the Mjallby bench and was unused when they drew 2-2 with Gefle IF. Zakaria Abdullai and Joachim Adukor were not in the Gefle team.

PORTUGAL

David Addy returned to the Vitoria Guimaraes team but did not play as he warmed the bench in their 1-0 defeat at Sporting Lisbon. Youngster Bernard Mensah could not make the squad for the game.

RUSSIA

Rabiu Mohammed was not in the Kuban Krasnodar team when they lost 3-1 at home to Krasnodar in a local derby.

Wakaso Mubarak also lost his place in the Rubin Kazan team when they lost 2-1 at home to FK Rostov.

GREECE

Eric Warden was unused by Levidiakos when they beat OFI Crete 2-1.

GERMANY

Schalke 04 posted a 2-0 victory over Hertha Berlin at the Veltins Arena. Kevin-Prince Boateng was suspended for the game and could not play against his former club but midfielder Anthony Annan came off the bench in the 84th minute to play for Schalke. Eintracht Braunschweig were forced to omit Ghanaian attacker Karim Bellarabi from their squad that travelled to play against Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga on Saturday due to his contractual terms.

In the Bundesliga II, St Pauli and Greuther Furth shared the spoils in a 2-2 drawn tie at the Millerntor-Stadion. Ghana defender Baba Abdul Rahman was unused by Furth as he watched the game from the bench in the entire 90 minutes.

German-born midfielder Reagy Ofosu was not in the Ingolstadt team when they held Fortuna Düsseldorf to a 0-0 draw at their own backyard.

In the youth league, 19-year-old Elvis Oduro-Agyemang sat on the Energie Cottbus bench in their 3-1 away reverse at Union Sandersdorf.

Felix Günther was not in the Eltersdorf team when they lost 3-1 against Jahn Forchheim on Friday.

In the Liga 3, Evans Owusu Nyarko was introduced by Borussia Dortmund B in the 46th minute when Preussen Munster held them to a 1-1 home draw.

Randy Edwini-Bonsu scored a 47th minute goal for Stuttgarter Kickers in their 2-2 draw with Hansa Rostock. German-born Dennis-Danso Weidlich completed the full 90 minutes of the game for Hansa Rostock.

Phil Ofosu-Aryeh helped MSV Duisburg to a 2-0 win over Saarbrücken as he played the entire 90 minutes.

In the Regionalliga, Reagy Ofosu played for Ingolstadt II who got beaten 4-0 by Illertissen.

Ghanaian-born former German international Gerald Asamoah was sent off in the 84th minute when Schalke II lost 1-0 to Lotte.

NETHERLANDS

Christian Atsu set up the second goal for Vitesse Arnhem in their 2-2 home draw with Heerenveen. The Chelsea loanee set up his fellow Chelsea loanee Betrand Traore in the 67th to level the scoring for Vitesse before being replaced 3 minutes from time.

Matthew Amoah came off the Heracles Almelo bench to score the match-winner for them in their 2-1 victory over NEC Nimejen. Compatriot Kwame Quansah was booked in the 85th minute and played the entire 90 minutes for Heracles. But Edwin Gyasi was not in the Heracles team for the game.

Feyenoord dispatched Go Ahead Eagles 5-0 on Sunday afternoon. Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Kodjo Amevor played in defence for GAH.

Shadrach Eghan was on the FC Twente bench when Ajax Amsterdam hammered them 3-0 at the Amsterdam Arena.

Elvis Manu was in full time action for Cambuur FC who were held to a 0-0 stalemate by AZ Alkmaar. Youngster Raymond Gyasi was not in the AZ first team squad.

Mitch Apau was in central defence for RKC Waalwijk who recorded an impressive 1-0 victory over Roda JC.

PSV Eindhoven succumbed to a 3-2 home loss against FC Groningen. Memphis Depay scored first for PSV but they surrendered their lead to loss the game.

Dutch-born defender Johan Kappelhof played the entire 90 minutes for Groningen.

Dutch-born Jeffrey Sarpong was unused by NAC Breda who drew 2-2 with FC Utrecht.

Former FC Utrecht winger Erixon Danso scored under 1 minute of kick-off to give Dordrecht 1-0 win over Helmond Sport. Danso was replaced in the 67th minute.

Patrick Amoah was not in the Fortuna Sittard team when they posted a 2-1 win over Jong PSV.

Dutch-born Ghanaian youth defender Kevin Tete was booked in the 57th minute and played 90 minutes for Ajax Amsterdam II when Williem II destroyed them 7-1. Elton Acolatse could not make the Ajax squad for the game.

Striker Jonathan Opoku was in action for Oss who lost 3-0 against Den Bosch.

BELGIUM

Lokeren got off their Championship play-off campaign to a horrible beginning as Club Brugge demolished them 5-1. Belgian-born Dennis Odoi scored Lokeren’s consolation goal in the 57th minute while youngster Eugene Ansah came off the bench to play Lokeren in the 81st minute.

Bennard Kumordzi played in central defence for KRC Genk when they got trounced 3-0 by Zulte-Waregem in the Championship play-offs on Saturday night.

Nana Akwasi Asare was a full-timer for KAA Gent who slipped to a 1-0 home defeat against KV Oostende.

In the Second Division, Prince Asubonteng played the entire 90 minutes for Dessel Sport who posted a SV Roeselare. KRC Genk loanee Marvin Ofori-Appiah also completed the game for Dessel.

Former Ghana U17 midfielder Enock Adu Kofi was not in the Club Brugge team for the game. CZECH REPUBLIC

Viktoria Plzen condemned Slovan Liberec to a 6-0 in the country’s top-flight league. Former Liberty Professionals midfielder Isaac Sackey replaced Kovac after just 12 minutes when the midfielder suffered an injury. While Dutch-born Kevin Luckassen played the entire second half for Liberec.

Banik Ostrava held Bohemians 1905 to a 0-0 drawn game. Former Ghana U20 striker Francis Narh was unused as he warmed the bench but compatriot Derrick Mensah was not in the Ostrava team.

NORTHERN IRELAND

Anthony Abladey played then full 90 minutes for Queen’s University in their 3-0 defeat at Newington Youth in the Championship 2.

FRANCE

Defender John Boye was unused as he watched the entire game from the Stade Rennes bench when they consigned Bastia to a 3-0 defeat.

Black Stars defender Jonathan Mensah was unused by Eviant TG as he watched their 1-0 victory over giants AS Monaco from the bench.

Striker Abdul Majeed Waris did not travel with the Valenciennes due to a thigh problem but they managed to hold Montpellier to a 0-0 draw at their own backyard.

Relegation-trapped Sochaux managed to hold Olympique Marseille to a 1-1 draw at the Stade Auguste-Bonal. Jordan Ayew returned from suspension to play 90 minutes for Sochaux while Andre Ayew also completed the game for Marseille.

Caen remain in 6th place after sharing the spoils with Nancy in a 1-1 stalemate. AS Monaco loanee Dennis Appiah played the entire 90 minutes for Caen in the game.

Third-placed Angers held leaders Metz to a 2-2 drawn game in the Ligue 2, former Mighty Jets and Ghana U17 forward Kwame Nsor could not recover in time to play for Metz in the game.

However Nsor scored once and assisted four goals for the Metz team B when they condemned Illzach Modenheim to a 11-0 defeat in a reserve league game. In other Reserves League game, Olympique Marseille II defeated Sète 2-1.

French-born Ghanaian attacker Kevin Osei played 73 minutes for Marseille II.

CYPRUS

AEL Limassol took a giant step to winning the Cypriot Division One title after hammering Ermis 4-0 on Saturday. 2013 Ghana U20 invitee Carlos Ohene was introduced by AEL to replace Brazilian Luciano Bebe in the 46th of the game but compatriot Enoch Ebo Andoh was unused by AEL.

AOEL Nicosia thrashed Apollon Limassol at their favourite home grounds to also stage a challenge for the title. Manchester City loanee Razak Nuhu was substituted on the 64th minute mark by Apollon.

SLOVAKIA

Ex-Ghana captain John Mensah watched from the stands as his FC Nitra side posted a 3-0 win over Myjava. The 31-year-old is out injured.

SOUTH AFRICA

Ghana first choice goalkeeper Fatau Dauda was on the Orlando Pirates bench when they recorded a 1-0 win over Moroka Swallows in the Absa Premier League on Saturday.

Platinum Stars posted a 2-1 win over Maritzburg United at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace on Saturday afternoon. Ghanaian trio of Awal Mohammed, Yakubu Mohammed and Frank Sarfo-Gyamfi were not involved in the game for Maritzburg.

Former Hearts of Oak defender Seth Owusu was not in the Golden Arrows team that drew against Wits University.

Ghana keeper Daniel Agyei did not travel with Free State Stars for their game against PoloKwane City on Saturday evening. Former New Edubiase United forward Abdul Basit was also not in the team.

SAUDI ARABIA

Former Ghana U17 star striker Saddick Adams was in full time action for Al Nahdha who were condemned 6-0 by Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League on Friday.

SPAIN

Clifford Aboagye was on the Granada CF B bench when they posted a 3-1 win over Cacereño in the Segunda B but Richard Boateng played for the team.

Atletico Madrid loanee Thomas Partey played the full 90 minutes for Real Mallorca when they drew 0-0 with Recreativo Huelva.

SWITZERLAND

Former Hearts of Oak striker Samuel Afum came off the bench in the 73rd minute to play for Young Boys Bern who lost 2-1 against Aarau.

FC Sion fought from behind to draw 1-1 with St Gallen at their own backyard. Ebenezer Assifuah set up the equaliser for Sion. Winger Ishmael Yartey watched the action from the Sion bench.

In the Challenge Cup, Kofi Ntiamoah Nimeley was in full time action for Locarno who drew 2-2 with Logarco.

UAE

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan scored a brace to restore Al Ain’s winning run as they beat Emirates Club 2-1 on Thursday.

TURKEY

Former AshGold striker Shaibu Yakubu scored an equaliser for ten-man 1461 Trabzon who drew 2-2 with Mersin in a keenly contest Turkish second-tier league game. Former Hearts of Oak youngster Torric Jebrin missed the game with injury.

Emmanuel Banahene played the entire 90 minutes but could not find the back of the net for anlurfaspor who got thrashed 3-1 by Samsunspor on Saturday afternoon.

Richard Kingson manned the post for Balikesirspor who posted a 2-1 win over Adanaspor AS. Striker Kwame Amponsah-Karikiari missed the game with injury.

ENGLAND

Derek Boateng watched from the Craven Cottage Stadium as his Fulham side got beaten 3-1 by Everton in the English Premier League on Sunday.

Leicester City enhanced their promotion chances with a 2-0 win at Burnley.

German-born Ghanaian versatile attacker Jeffrey Schulpp lasted the entire 90 minutes of the game for Leicester City.

Albert Adomah played 87 minutes for Middlesbrough and scored the first goal as they Boro posted a 2-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Emmanuel Frimpong was unused by Barnsley who recorded their second straight win after thrashing Yeovil Town 4-1. Former Chelsea U21 captain and English youth international of Ghanaian descent Nana Ofori-Twumasi was not in the Yeovil team.

Crystal Palace loanee Hiram Boateng was unused by Crawley Town who lost 1-0 at Preston North End.

Patrick Agyemang came off the Portsmouth bench to play 11 minutes in their 2-1 win over Newport in the League Two on Saturday.

Defender Curtis Obeng played the entire 90 minutes for Stevenage when Port Vale held them to a 1-1 drawn game.

Former Ghana striker Chris Dickson was introduced in the 80th minute by Dagenham and Red Albion who pipped Oxford United 1-0. Bolton Wanders loanee Bernard Mensah was brought on later in the second half by Braintree when they lost 1-0 against Gateshead.

German-born Ghanaian defender Davidson Drobo-Ampem was on the Esbjerg bench when they drew 0-0 with Vestsjaelland in the Danis Superliga on Saturday afternoon.

Francis Dickoh was a pillar in defence for Midtjylland who thrashed Randers FC 3-0. Fellow Ghanaian Kolja Afriyie was unused by Midtjylland. Kevin Mensah was a full-timer for Viborg who suffered a 1-0 home loss against Brondby. Mensah’s twin brother Jeff Mensah could not make the squad for the game.

Danny Amankwaah was unused by FC Copenhagen who suffered a 2-1 away defeat at Aalborg.

ITALY

Kwadwo Asamoah played 53 minutes for Juventus who lost 2-0 against Napoli. Young midfielder Raman Chibsah played full throttle for Sassuolo when AS Roma defeated them 2-0 at their own backyard.

Parma slipped to a 3-2 away defeat at Lazio. In-form midfielder Afriyie Acquah played 70 minutes for Parma.

Ghanaian youngster Emmanuel Gyasi returned to the Torino bench but could not make his debut as they posted a 2-1 victory over Cagliari.

Hellas Verona posted a 3-0 win over Genoa to get their campaign back on track. Youngster Godfred Donsah was omitted from the squad but midfielder Isaac Cofie sat on the Genoa bench.

AC Milan recorded their second straight win after dispatching Chievo Verona 3-0 at the San Siro. Sulley Muntari started the game and was replaced by his international team-mate Michael Essien just before the start of the second-half.

In the Serie B, Latina moved to 8th place after posting a 1-0 win over Carpi. Defender Masahudu Alhassan played the entire 90 minutes for Latina while Fiorentina loanee Maxwell Boadi Acosty was brought on by Carpi to play 33 minutes.

Modena failed to take advantage of their numerical superiority to beat nine-man Spezia at the Stadio Alberto Braglia as they split the points in a 0-0 drawn game. Ghanaian youth midfielder Amidu Salifu was not in the Modena team. 19-year-old Nii Nortey Ashong was not in the Spezia team for the game.

Ransford Selasi could not make the Pescara 18-man squad for the game as they drew 2-2 with Reggina on Saturday.

Isaac Ntow Tuah and Mase Nana Addo Welbeck were both not in the Brescia team when they suffered a 2-1 defeat at Siena.

Cesena moved third and just three points within the reach for second spot after beating Novara 2-0. Genoa loanee Moro Al-Hassan was on the Cesena bench.

ROMANIA

Muniru Sulley was not in the CFR Cluj team that beat Pandurii 1-0.

SCOTLAND

Prince Buaben played 62 minutes for Patrick Thistle in their 1-1 draw with St. Johnston in the Scottish Premier League.

USA

Patrick Nyarko came off the bench to set Quincy Amarikwa to score the equaliser for Chicago Fire who held DC United to 2-2 draw. Canadian-born Nana Attakora was unused by DC United.

Gershon Kwoffie lasted 76 minutes for Vancouver Whitecaps who cruised to a 2-1 win over Houston Dynamo. Kofi Sarkodie played full throttle for Houston. Khalif Alhassan was brought on in the 62nd minute by Portland Timbers and took a booking in the 67th minute in their 2-1 reverse at FC Dallas.

NORWAY

Ernest Asante got his season to flying start when he scored a brace for IK Start but his goals were not enough to deliver them from a 4-2 away defeat to champions Stromsgodset. Ghana keeper Adam Kwarasey manned the Godset post and midfielder Mohammed Abu also completed the entire duration for them.

Enock Adu Kofi played the entire 90 minutes for Stabaek in their 3-0 thrashing of Sogndal. Striker Mahatma Otoo was unused by Sogndal in the game.
