The draw for the 2018-2019 season of the UEFA Champions League was held on Thursday in Monaco.
It saw some Ghanaian players getting tough oppositions while others got draws that could be described as fortunate.
FootballmadeinGhana.com takes you through some of the draws involving Ghanaian players.
Thomas Partey
Thomas Teye Partey’s Athletico Madrid found themselves in Group A as they were in pot one. They were drawn against Borrusia Dortmund, AS Monaco and Club Brugge.
Rashid Sumaila
Rashid Sumalia who joined Red Star Belgrade in June 2018 saw his club paired against French Champions Paris Saint Germain, SSC Napoli and last season’s finalist, Liverpool. Sumaila did not feature for Red Star in the playoff round as he was not registered on time.
The Ghana defender now has a golden chance to play in the prestigious club competition as registration is opened to clubs at this stage.
Kwadwo Asamoah
Two times UEFA Champions finalists Kwadwo Asamoah will be playing against some of the best forwards in the world as his new club Inter Milan were pitched against Lionel Messi’s Barcelona, Harry Kane’s Tottenham and PSV Eindhoven.
Kassim Nuhu
Kasim Nuhu moved from Swiss side Young Boys to TSG Hoffeinham this summer and played a part in their first league game of the season against Bayern Munich.
He will definitely be a key figure in their Champions League campaign this year.
Hoffenheim find themselves in the same group with Manchester City, Shaktar Donetsk and Olympique Lyon.
