Young enterprising Ghanaian attacker, Idris Abdul-Nafiu, who was named the best attacker in the male category of the just concluded First West African Academicals Championship, held in Lagos, Nigeria, is heading for modest Belgian Jupiler League side, RKC Westerloo.
Nafiu, a player of the Feyenoord Academy, in Ghana, revealed this to ghanaweb shortly after his side lost the finals 3-5 on penalties to their Nigerian counterparts.
"I am going to Belgium to join Westerloo. We went to Holland to play trial matches, then the coach took me to Belgium for trials, and I qualified. I am expected back in August. They said by August 23, I will report there. I am presently waiting for them to come for me," the young attacker said.
He expressed confidence that he would make a good start in Belgium, like other Ghanaians, who started their professional career, in the country.
Although his side lost to Nigeria in the epic final match, Nafiu said he was delighted to have had an opportunity of representing Ghana, in Nigeria.
According to him: "We will try to win next time."
