A cross-section of soccer fans in Brong Ahafo Region have called on the government to nominate the president of King Faisal F.C., Herbert Mensah for election into the office of the chairman of GFA.

In a special survey conducted by Space Fm, most of the people interviewed lauded Mr. Mensah for the massive transformation he brought to Kotoko and Ghana football in general. “Herbert Is the father of professionalism in Ghana soccer”, a caller emphasized in a phone-in programme to solicit views of soccer fans on the subject of who should be the successor of Ben Koufie.

Mr. Mensah was virtually unknown in Ghana football until he burst into the scene in 1999 as the CEO of Kotoko. The charismatic football administrator led the team for little over three years before he was removed from office by the owner of the club, Otumfo Osei Tutu II. During his time Kotoko got huge sponsorship packages, something he has not stopped doing since he crossed carpet to city rivals, King Faisal.

Other names that came out during the survey were Alhaji Jawula, Harry Zackhour and Abedi Pele.
