Ghanaians abroad: Ayew scores debut Lorient goal...

The young striker recorded his first strike for The Les Merlus in the French Ligue 1 after joining them from Marseille

Ghana striker Jordan Ayew scored his debut goal for new club Lorient in a 4-0 drubbing of Guingamp on Saturday at the Stade du Moustoir.

The 22-year-old striker, who was cautioned in the 34th minute, latched onto a fine pass from Valentin Lavigne in the 83rd minute and coolly slotted the ball in beyond the reach of goalkeeper Mamadou Samassa to further deepen the woes of Guingamp after goals from Benjamin Jeannot and Valentin Lavigne.

Lavigne added another goal on the stroke of full time to wrap up an impressive display by Lorient to record their second victory in the 2014-15 French Ligue 1 season. Ayew was replaced in 86th minute by Walib Mesloub and is expected to join the Black Stars ahead of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Uganda and Togo.

Meanwhile, Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah played the entire game when Evian Thonon Gaillard lost 1-0 away to Toulouse at the Stadium Municipal.

Elsewhere in the English Championship, Albert Adomah was booked in the 75th minute and played full throttle when Middlesbrough were pipped 1-0 at home by Reading at the Riverside Stadium.

In the Italian Serie A, midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah saw full action when his Juventus outfit beat ChievoVerona 1-0 away at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi. Youngster Isaac Coffie played the last 20 minutes for Verona when he came on in the 70th minute for Ivan Radovanovic.

In the German Bundesliga, Karim Bellarabi played the entire duration and was on target for Bayer Leverkusen when they thrashed Hertha Berlin 4-2 at the BayArena. Kevin-Prince Boateng was not part of the Schalke 04 team that shared the spoils 1-1 with Bayern Munich.

In the Belgian Jupiler League, Bernard Yao Kumordzi was booked in the 40th minute and played full throttle for Genk who drew 1-1 with KV Oostende at the Albertparkstadion.

In the Portuguese Liga, Bernard Mensah played the entire duration but Nii Adamah Plange saw red when a 10-man Vitoria de Guimaraes thrashed CF Belenenses 3-0 at the Estádio do Restelo.

In the Swedish Allsvenskan, Mohammed Abubakar played 90 minutes for Åtvidaberg when they won 1-0 away against Gefle at the Strömvallen (Gävle) but Emmanuel Kwame Agyeman Boakye was an unused substitute. Former Ghana Under-17 captain Nasiru Mohammed played 82 minutes but there was no Augustine Okrah or Richard Donkor when BK Hacken drew 1-1 with Mjällby at the Nya Gamla Ullevi. Kwame 'Conte' Bonsu played 88 minutes for Mjällby and won the man of the match accolade.
