Ghanaians abroad have a slow weekend

Laryea Kingston had a vibrant game for Hapoel Be’er Sheva this weekend as Ghanaian

players had a generally slow weekend abroad. Jordan Ayew and Nana Akwasi Asare

Ayew came on for Andre-Pierre Gignac and scored ten minutes later as Marseille beat

Nice 2-0, with Andre Ayew playing the full match. Lille drew 1-1 with Evian and

Rabiu Mohammed was brought on injury time as a tactical change.Moussa

Narry got 90 minutes for Le Mans in their Ligue 2 draw with Monaco.

THE

NETHERLANDS

Nana

Akwasi Asare grabbed the headlines with a goal in each half in Utrecht’s manic 6-4

victory over Ajax on Saturday. The player now has six goals this season. Heracles’

Kwame Quansah got a full game in their 4-1 to giants PSV.

The

second division saw Mitch Apau score and played the full match for Veendam in

their 3-2 loss to Helmond. Jonathan Opoku got a full game for Veendam, too.

ENGLAND

Albert

Adomah’s 73rd minute goal helped Bristol win 3-1 against Burnley while Prince Buaben

got himself 83 minutes in Watford’s 1-0 to ‘Borough.

Emmanuel

Frimpong and John Paintsil did not play for Arsenal and Leicester City respectively.

SCOTLAND

Junior Agogo lost 1-0 to Dunfermline Athletic and he got almost 70 minutes.

ITALY

Kevin-Prince

Boateng, who says he will not play for Ghana again, is still on suspension and

did not play in Milan’s 4-0 win over Catania in the Serie A.

Afriyie

Acquah’s Palermo beat Bologna 3-1 and he got a full game, as did Kwadwo Asamoah

in Udinese’s 2-1 win against Siena. Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu got 15 minutes of

action.

The

Serie B saw Richmond Boakye-Yiadom get 55 minutes as Sassuolo drew 0-0 with Torino.

GERMANY

Isaac

Vorsah played the full game and Hoffenheim drew Kaiserslautern 1-1.

BELGIUM

Mechelen 6-2 loss to Gent had Abdul Yakinu Iddi playing all game but Daniel Opare did

not feature in Liege’s 2-1 win against Brugge.

DENMARK

Enoch

Kofi Adu’s full game helped Nordsjaelland beat HB Koge 2-0 but Kwadwo Afriyie’s

Midtjylland lost 4-1 to Silkeborg. He also had 90 minutes.

GREECE

Panathinaikos’ Quincy Owusu Abeyie got a full game as they won 3-2 against AEK

Athens in the

Super League, as did Bernard Kumordji for Panionios in their 3-1 loss.

Full

games were also recorded by Francis Dickoh for Aris, David Addy for

Panaitolikos and Abdul Osman for Kerkyra.

ISRAEL

Star regular Laryea Kingston got 76 minutes for Hapoel Be’er Sheva in the top

flight as Daniel Addo played all game for Petah Tikva in their 2-0 victory of

Kingston’s side.

PORTUGAL

Atsu scored in the 83rd minute and played the full match for Rio Ave

in their 2-1 win over Nacional.

SERBIA

Addy scored an own goal but got 90 minutes for Red Star Belgrade in their 3-1

win over Beograd in the Superliga.

UKRAINE

Boateng was in for 90 minutes as Dnipro won 1-0 over Arsenal Kyiv, with Samuel

Inkoom’s previous red card rendering him suspended.
