Football loving Ghanaians have hailed new Black Stars goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey for his splendid performance against Brazil on Monday.

On three occasions, the keeper denied Brazil, pulling up some brilliant saves.

For instance, he stretched to his elastic limit in the second half to deny playmaker Ronaldinho’s free kicks and Pato’s header from getting into the back of the net.

His reflexes and agility on the day proved many connoisseurs of the game and football loving fans that he was ready to take over from first choice goalkeeper Richard Kingson.

‘Indeed coach Goran Stevanovic took a gamble when he fielded untested Kwarasey; and it proved worthwhile when the Ghanaian showcased immense talent on the Craven Cottage field,’ an excited Samuel Amponsah of Taifa told this paper.

‘When Daniel Opare was shown the exit in the 33rd minute, we thought Ghana was going to be humiliated but Kwarasey kept us in the game’, said Mohammed Alhassan of Accra Newtown.

Ofori Kissi of Adabraka in Accra was full of joy that at least Ghana has gotten a goalkeeper who can replace Richard Kingson in the future- a statement complemented by Michael Ansah of Essikado in Takoradi.

A 10-man Black Stars lost gallantly to Brazil in a friendly international in England.

Internacianol’s Leandro Damiao scored the only goal of the match in the 45th minute when he latched onto a pass by Fernandinho.

The Black Stars will play Sudan in Khartoum in October in the last match of the CAN 2012 qualifiers.
