The Corsician derby between AC Ajaccio and SC Bastia ended 1-1, with Bruno Rodriguez giving Ajaccio the lead shortly before half-time before Franck Silvestre salvaged a point for Bastia with a free-kick equaliser. Micka?l ESSIEN played 90 minutes

Division 2

Ibrahim Razak (ASSE) played in "A" team (Lorient/ASSE 1-1). Lawrence Quaye(ASSE) played in "B" team (Ajaccio/ASSE 2-0).

Last week, Quaye signed his first professionnal contrat.

Maccabi Tel Aviv's season didn't start so well, but the stars have moved in their favour lately. This time Maccabi beat MS Ashdod 4-1 to go into 2nd place in the league. Ashdod, on the other end, are in a bad situation and placed in the relegation zone.
Maccabi Tel Aviv finished the game in the 83rd minute when the new arrival John Pantsil passed a wonderful ball between two Ashdod defenders to Torgeman who scored nicely from 10 meters against Ben Ishay, 3-1 Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Natanya's good days continued with a nice away win. Ishmal Addo scored the first goal in the 63rd minute after a great pass from Reoven Atar. Atar himself scored the second in the 72nd minute when Tzokol kicked the ball but Ben Hamo saved it, Atar collected the rebound and scored.

ITALY: Seria A
BRESCIA strengthened their chances of avoiding relegation from Serie A and increased Piacenza's with a 4-1 victory at Stadio Galleana.

The visitors were dangerously close to the drop zone prior to the contest, but following the rout they now have breathing space between themselves and the bottom four.

The contest began evenly enough with Dario Hubner cancelling out Stephan Appiah's opener, though it was one-way traffic for the remainder of the contest.

Italian legend Roberto Baggio restored the visitors' advantage, and the win was looking good when Luca Toni made it three shortly after the interval.

With the contest entering the closing stages, and the home fans heading for the exit, substitute Igli Tare completed the rout with a last-gasp fourth.
