ITALY: Serie A
Brescia were able to extend their unbeaten run to eleven matches as they held a disappointing Bologna to a scoreless draw despite being forced to play an entire half a man down.
The first part of the match was very balanced, but also extremely unattractive. Both teams put a huge pressure in the middle, forcing plenty of turnovers and preventing the opponents' strikers from receiving a decent supply.
In the 25th minute, Brescia created the first real scoring opportunity of the match with Stephan Appiah. Following a corner kick, the Ghanian midfielder fired a left-footer from the right side of Bologna's box, but the ball skimmed the far post of Pagliuca's net.
