The Ghana Soccer Coaches Association (GHASOCA), the mouthpiece of Ghanaian soccer coaches, on Wednesday warned that it would not recognise any certificate awarded to local coaches by any other local organisation in the country.
A release signed by Mr E. K. Afranie, General Secretary of GHASOCA, in Accra on Wednesday said: "It is, therefore, not necessary to partake in the ongoing courses being organised by another local organisation."
It said: "Any certificate awarded to a local coach will not be recognised by GHASOCA. Such beneficiaries will definitely be re-trained."
GHASOCA has the objective of improving the professional standards and general welfare of coaches, thereby raising the standard of soccer in Ghana. In another development, GHASOCA has requested its members to furnish the General Secretary of Ghana Football Association (GFA) with their full name, address, telephone numbers, present club/employer, courses taken and brief coaching experience.
A released signed by the First Vice-President of the Association; Mr Fred Osam-Duodu said the information should reach the secretary not later than February 22.
