Ghana forward Gladson Awako is targeting a move to Europe by next year after clinching the CAF Champions League title with TP Mazembe.
The 23-year-old has been a regular performer for the DR Congo giants since his arrival in 2012. Awako who was part of the famous 2009 Ghana U20 squad believes time is rife for him to move to Europe as many of his colleagues in the Black Satellites did after winning the World Cup in 2009.
But the ex Berekum Chelsea star wants to first win the CAF Champions League with TP Mazembe to serve as a launch pad for his prospective European career.
“We are determined to progress to the finals of the Champions League and possibly win it to enrich our CV’s,” he said.
“So that it paves the way for me to move to Europe. I look to move to Europe by next year.”
TP Mazemebe are currently in the semi-finals of the Champions League where they will be facing Algerian club ES Setif.
