Inter Allies Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Delali Senaya is urging government to hand financial support to Premier League clubs that qualify for continental competitions since they require a higher cash boost to compete effectively.

The 2014 MTN FA Cup runner up was forced to pull out of the CAF Confederations Cup due to financial constraints.

Inter Allies would have required about US$600,000 to play in the continental club competition, which would have earned them US$625,000 at the end of the competition.

Delali Senaya told Starr FM Sports that domestic top flight clubs would need funding support from government to play in Africa.

“For clubs to be able to compete fairly in Africa, they need support and that support should come from the central government”.

“Do you know if a club compete in Africa and it does not have the financial backing, it cannot compete effectively and that will dampen the image of the club and affect development of football in Ghana,” Delali said.
