Black Stars coach Avram Grant will be in Los Angeles this week to hold talks with LA Galaxy forward of Ghanaian descent Zardes Gyasi in an effort to get him for Ghana, Goal Ghana can exclusively reveal.
The Israeli is on a tour abroad to monitor Ghanaian players ahead of next month’s Nations Cup and has identified the 23-year-old, who was the second top scorer at the just ended MLS season with 16 goals, as a potential Black Stars striker.
Gyasi who has been linked to Tottenham Hotspurs is yet to be capped by the Yankees at any level and could play for Ghana if the former Chelsea boss is able to convince him.
American national team coach Jurgen Klinsman has hinted he will give Gyasi his first national team call-up in January.
Born to Ghanaian parents in the US, Gyasi can play as a leading striker and also on the left wing.
