Great Stars silence FC Zaragoza

Accra, Dec 10, GNA - Juapong Great Stars put a spirited performance to beat FC Zaragoza 2-0 in the fifth week of the Volta Regional Division Two league match played at Juapong at the weekend. Great Stars have thus increased their total point build up to 15 and are firmly on top of the league table.

The homesters scored their first goal in the 20th minute through Jacob Ayensu after they were presented with a stiff opposition from the visiting team.

Despite the opposition from Zaragoza, Great Stars maintained their lead till the end of the first half.

On resumption of the second half, Great Stars approached the game with more determination and managed to score the second goal in the 80th minute to ensure their safety on the league.

Mr Dan Aseidu Asare, Chief Executive Officer of Great Stars expressed satisfaction with the performance of his team. He told the GNA Sports that he is expecting similar performance from his team in their subsequent matches to ensure they progress to the Division One League.
