Guinea defender Florentin Pogba has been ruled out of the quarter-finals clash against Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations due to injury.
He has been ruled out for the rest of the continent’s showpiece ongoing in Equatorial Guinea.
Pogba, who is the elder brother of Juventus and French midfielder Paul Pogba, suffered a serious thigh injury during the 1-1 draw with Cameroon in Malabo and has returned to St Etienne.
The Ligue 1 side announced on Friday that the guardsman will be out for about four months following a scan on his thigh.
Pogba is the fourth player at the 2015 Nations Cup to suffer injury serious enough to rule them out of the tournament after the Zambian pair of Emmanuel Mayuka and Nathan Sinkala and Mali's first-choice goalkeeper Soumaila Diakite.
The Syli Nationale will face old foes Ghana in the quarter-finals in Malabo this weekend.
