Guinness, official sponsor of the Black Stars, has called for total massive support for the senior national team when they line up against their Liberian counterparts in their World Cup qualifying match at the Accra Stadium on Sunday.

In a release yesterday to the press and signed by the Managing Director, Mr Devlin Hainsworth, Guinness reassured captain C. K. Akonnor and his colleagues of the company’s full support as they prepare for Sunday’s match which promises to be tough and uncompromising.

Mr Hainsworth said Guinness, as usual, will mobilise a well-motivated Black Stars suppporters group, led by ‘One-man-supporter’, to cheer the Black Stars to victory on Sunday.

The Guinness Ghana boss expressed his delight that all the foreign-based players have arrived in Ghana in good time to prepare for the all-important World Cup assignment.

“The speed of response by the Black Stars to the national call demonstrates the renewed surge of morale, commitment and dedication to the national cause and the determination of Ghana to qualify for the 2002 Korea/Japan Cup”, Mr Hainsworth added.

He said barring any last minute hitches, he would visit the Black Stars in camp on Friday.

Guinness, Ghana’s favourite drink company, has been the official corporate sponsor of the Black Stars since 1998.
