Al Ain striker Asamoah Gyan has quashed rumours of a return to Europe, saying he has paid his dues there and has nothing to prove there again.
Many people were speculating that after winning the goal king award in UAE thrice the Ghana captain will head back to Europe after the World Cup, but he insists it has never crossed his mind.
“I played in Italy, France and England. I scored enough in these countries. I have nothing more to prove,” Gyan told MNAfrica.
“My stats are there and can be accessed by all. I do not know why people say that I should return to Europe. I no longer have anything to prove.”
Gyan will lead the Black Stars at the global football showpiece as the country seeks to become the first African country to reach the last four.
