Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan has admitted that he was wasteful in front of goal as he scored ONLY two goals in Ghana’s 7-1 thrashing of Mauritius in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Sunday.
The Al Ain attacker struck twice in the 22nd and 29th minutes, but wasted several glaring opportunities to extend his impressive international goal scoring record, and the 29-year-old disappointed with the brace.
“I think we should have scored more especially me. I had a couple of chances that I could have buried easily,” Gyan told Dailysoccerghana.
Ghana scored seven goals against hapless Mauritius on a poor Accra playing surface with Jordan Ayew and Asamoah Gyan bagging braces in a 7-1 Group H romp that was not unexpected.
Ghana’s heavy win puts them in pole position in group H ahead of Rwanda who got an important away victory against Mozambique.
