Asamoah Gyan was given a real treat by Al Ain on his return from his international assignment with Ghana to celebrate his feat as the club’s top scorer for the month of August.
The Black Stars captain was presented with an honorary cake and other gifts by club officials for scoring more goals than any other player of the side in August.
Gyan scored three goals, one in pre-season and two in the Asian Champions League in the month under review.
His two goals in the Asian Champions League quarter final tie against Al Ittihad was key to the side’s progress to the last four of the competition.
The 28-year-old was presented with gifts on Friday evening following his return from an international assignment with Ghana where he helped the Black Stars gather four points from two games in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Gyan offered the cake to the rest of his teammates after which the surplus was used in a hilarious throw-cake fight.
Most of the players in the Al Ain dressing room on Friday evening had their faces splashed with Gyan’s cake.
The ex-Sunderland hitman has already begun training with the team ahead of their Asian Champions League semi-final game– first leg – at Al Hilal on Tuesday.
