Ghanaian side Hasaacas have suspended the construction of a multisport complex due to their crippling financial situation.
The giants of the West have suspended the project after their major partners Zakhem construction withdrew their sponsorship.
The UK firm pulled the plugs on their involvement with the club, leading to the decision to put an ice on the project.
The construction of the multisport would have benefited the club immensely as it included a training pitch, gym, coaches' residence among other modern facilities.
The UK firm signed a Memorandum of Understanding to construct the facility in exchange for the clubs training pitch and a club house, located at Chapel Hill, a surburb of Takorad - home of the Ghanaian side.
But the firm has frozen their plans, leading to the decision to back down until further notice.
“Zakhem Construction which acquired our land (at Chapel Hill) wrote to us government has given them a very big contract and that will delay the construction of the sports complex, so they want to opt out” the club's deputy Chief Executive Joseph Ofori Acquah told Takoradi-based Empire FM.
Hasaacas are in financial turmoil with players and officials unpaid for several months.
