All is set for the big return of Heart of Lions Boxing Promotions with an action packed fight night in Accra at the end of November this year, Sportsinghana.com can exclusively report.

Their maiden promotion nearly two years ago was one of the finest staged in the history of this country, amid a live beaming on national television. Their second event has been a while in coming but not anymore with promising boxers Sena Agbeko, Dodzi Kemeh among those expected to thrill on the bill within two months.

According to reliable sources close to Godwin Kwame Ahiakpor, the astute President of the Heart of Lions franchise which also run a football club playing in the Ghanaian top flight league, the boxing promotions and management outfit are primed to take the sport to a higher pedestal beginning with the big show in November. “The ambition to revive and push boxing in this country to meet international standards is still on. Our maiden promotion was an eye-opener and we have been planning how to improve on all levels. It took us a long time to re-strategise but we are glad to announce that we are returning with a bang in November,” Mr. Ahiakpor famously nicknamed Victor Abramovich said.

In a related development, Sportsinghana.com can also reveal that Ahiakpor will be travelling to the UK next month just to acquire quality equipment and fight gear for his boxers in the bid to bring out the very best in them all.

Abramovich is also rooting for Ghanaian boxer, Gabriel Odoi Laryea who will be facing Englishman Martin Ward in Sunderland on October 19 for the Commonwealth Bantamweight championship.

“A major problem we’ve identified is the lack of quality boxing equipment and facilities, hopefully we can get good ones to buy in the UK. I will be there myself to support Odoi Laryea in his Commonwealth title fight. He’s a good boxer whom we must support,” Victor Abramovich said.
