Asante Kotoko were held to a thrilling 1-1 draw in their latest friendly match against Heart of Lions on Sunday.
The champions have been limited to playing a series of friendly matches to keep their players active due to the delayed start of the Ghana Premier League.
The friendly played at the Accra Sports Stadium was also to mark the 84th anniversary of the demise of Arthur Wharton – the first black professional to play abroad.
Striker Ahmed Toure put Kotoko ahead before the break with a clumsy finish.
But Gyau Baffour equalized for Lions to earn the share of the spoils for his side.
Kotoko will be hosting Lions in the second leg of the friendly next weekend in Kumasi.
