Hearts, Kotoko and Goldfields set

The nation's three representatives in the continent’s most prestigious competitions, Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko and Goldfields, engage in tricky second-leg duels this weekend.

Whilst Hearts will be battling to turn their disappointing performance against Stade Malien in their favour in Bamako, Kotoko will be in Luanda and Goldfields Conakry sorting things out with their opponents, Atletico Sonangol of Angola and Satellites of Guinea respectively.

Hearts, who played the first-leg without their substantive coach, Jones Attuquayefio, have quickly moved to secure the services of Herbert Addo, apparently due to their inability to renew their deal with former head coach.

However, the Phobians have resolved to shock the Malians by repeating their proud away record when the two sides clash on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Goldfields seem to be sitting on tenterhooks after giving away a gifted 4-0 lead in a heartbreaking match at the Len Clay Stadium. The miners let slip a golden chance that could have placed them in a comfortable position in the second-leg.

Nonetheless, in spite of allowing the Guineans to close the margin, the miners are still capable of emerging victorious.

Perhaps the most comfortable score of all the games was the one between Kotoko and the Angolans. The convincing two goals advantage the Porcupine Warriors secured is likely to put them in a more suitable position to accomplish the task ahead of them.
