The stage is set for the biggest game in the Ghanaian club football as rivals Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko clash in a dicey duel in a match-day 25 fixture of the First Capital Plus Premier League (FCPPL), at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The battle, passably the top-liner of the weekend and one every fan is anxiously waiting for is christened ‘Ghana’s version of the El-Clasico,’ as all roads lead towards Accra, the Ghanaian capital.

Matches between the two sides are a must-watch for every football lover and overshadows all activities irrespective of the location though the two sides are not in top shape this season.

The national stadium, home to Hearts, the oldest existing Ghanaian football club, is expected to be dominated by the red, yellow and blue colours of Hearts and the red army of Kotoko fans. With both teams, having a poor spell this season, the Phobians look set to capitalise on their home advantage to edge past the Porcupine Warriors.

In the reserve fixture in Kumasi, the Phobians defeated the Warriors with a lone goal courtesy, Selassie Adjei and going into this dicey encounter, the latter will have revenge on their minds when they travel to Accra.

Kotoko currently placed 11th on the league log, having accumulated 32 points out of a possible 72 with eight wins, eight draws and eight loss whilst their opponent are tied on 29 points with second-from-bottom Accra Great Olympics.

With five games remaining after this weekend, a win for both sides will avoid relegation with Hearts already stuck in the relegation zone.

Both camps are poised and confident to avoid defeat and a tactical brilliance on either coach's side will see the team as victors.

At the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi, league leaders Ashgold will be hoping to end a run of three repeated loses when they play Liberty Professionals. A win for the Miners will extend their two points gap from Berekum Chelsea who are equally in contention for the title.

Elsewhere at the Golden City Park, Berekum Chelsea will host Medeama SC whilst at the Sekondi Essipon Stadium, Hasaacas will face-off Olympics.

In other interesting fixtures, West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) will battle 12th-placed Bechem United at Sogakope, whereas bottom placed Brong Ahafo United play Aduana Stars with Inter-Allies locking horns with 13th-placed Heart of Lions at the Tema Park.

At the Wa Park, sixth-placed Wa All Stars will engage New Edubiase.
