Accra Hearts of Oak are off to Libya for a four-team tournament from November 18th to 21st to celebrate the Moslem holy month of Ramadan. Dubbed the Ramadan tournament, the competition brings together two West African and North African sides.
Libyan club Al-Ittihad, owned by President Gaddafi’s son Saadi is the home team and would be parading former African football of the year and Cameroonian international Patrick Mbomah.
There is also Cameroonian side Canon Yaounde as well as African giants Al-Ahly. Hearts go into the tournament with confidence at its apex. The team has just come off a remarkable sixth straight league title win and are likely to make the most of the opportunity test their skills against some of the strongest teams on the continent.
