Hearts advance to finals of President’s Cup

Accra Hearts of Oak advanced to the finals of the 2013 President’s Cup competition by beating T.P Mezembe 4-3 on penalties at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.

Both teams thrilled fans with an attractive game and ended the regulation time one all.

Hearts scored first in the 68th minute, through Thomas Abbey, whilst Mezembe equalized in the 74th minutes through Bokansa Nusau to push the match to a shootout.

Hichani Honode, Ilongo Ngasanya and Nathan Sinkale scored for DR Congo, whilst Alou Bakayoko and Kissi Boateng missed their kicks.

Hearts’ Reuben Gnagna, Stephen Tetteh, Gilbert Fiamenyo, Mahatma Otoo converted for Hearts with Windful Cobbinah missing his kick.
