Accra, Dec. 22, GNA - Supporters of Accra Hearts Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko will on Friday, December 31, embarked on a "Peace Walk", three days ahead of the two leg final match between the two clubs in the Confederations Cup Competition.

The match is scheduled for January 2 and 9 at the Accra and Kumasi Sports Stadiums.

The peace walk, which is being organised by the ever-powerful Chapter '0' 100, a supporters' branch of Hearts based in Nima, Accra is to signify the level of peace and tolerance among the supporters of the two great clubs as well as ensure a violence free match on the match day. In a statement signed by Mr Abdul Aziz Haruna, Chairman of Chapter 100 copied to the GNA Sports, it said supporters of the two clubs will begin the walk from the Nima Police Station through the Kwame Nkrumah Circle with the completion point at the forecourt of the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, Accra.

The statement said supporters of the two clubs during the exercise would walk hand in hand with each other as they dress in the colours of their respective clubs to serve as a sign of peace among the two bodies to the entire nation.

The statement added that some key government officials and leaders of the two clubs are expected to attend the programme.

Mr Haruna has therefore called on supporters of the two ckubs to come in their numbers to ensure fruitful interaction and success of the walk to create an atmosphere for a violence free match come next January.
