Hearts of Oak captain Moro Abubakar has undergone successful surgery to fix a troublesome knee injury, GHANAsoccernet.com is reliably informed.
The midfielder was operated on at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra on Thursday. Abubakar has been battling an injury located at the back of his knee – referred to as popliteal fossa (knee pit).
The injury was the main reason the forceful midfielder was dropped from Ghana’s squad for the CHAN tournament hosted by South Africa.
Abubakar will now commence a stringent rehabilitation regimen to ensure a full recovery before he returns to first team duties.
Abubakar’s tireless efforts and drive has been sorely missed by the Phobians who have launched a late bid to catch rivals Asante Kotoko at the top of the Ghana Premier League.
