Accra, Sept. 24, GNA - The Board of Directors of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has confirmed that the Club's Extraordinary Congress and Annual General Meeting will take place on Saturday, September 26 this year.
The event slated for the Kama Health Centre in Accra will discuss various issues related to the future of the Club. A statement signed by Ernest Thompson, Board Secretary of the Club copied to GNA Sports said the decision emanates from a Board meeting held on Wednesday, September 23, which also confirmed the agenda for the day.
The agenda would include passing of a resolution amending and altering the current constitution (and regulations) of the Club by downsizing the number of Directors from the current 25 to eleven. Others are to pass a resolution amalgamating the Constitution of the Club and the current regulations of the club into one single regulation as well as incorporating and adopting same as the new Regulations of the Club and to pass a resolution converting the Club from a private company to a public company in accordance with section 273 of the Companies Act 1963, Article 179. Mr Thompson also informed that National Members in good standing will up till August 31, 2009 be eligible to attend and vote on the issues.
"Eligible Chapter participation is premised on the payment of a registration fee of 10 Ghana Cedis and annual subscription fee of 50 Ghana cedis. Each Chapter that satisfies these requirements shall officially delegate three members duly endorsed by the various Chapter Chairmen," he added.
The Board Secretary added that National Members or Chapters in default can pay-up at the Club's Secretariat by Friday, September 25 or at the Congress venue to be permitted to participate in the deliberations of the Congress.
The last time the oldest existing football Club in the country held its annual event was in November 2005 at the auditorium of the Royal House Chapel, Kaneshie, Accra. 24 Sept. 09
