It seems the Ghana FA’s directive to Hearts of Oak to pay former coach David Duncan a little over $40,000 for wrongfully terminating his contract has now led to some fracas among the fans.
The chairman of the support wing and a director of the club Brimah Ankabi has mentioned that the club would boycott the league if the Players Status Committee of the Ghana FA does not reverse its decision following their appeal.
However, some other top officials of the Accra Hearts of Oak support wing, the National Chapters Committee have taken a swipe at Ankabi.
Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa and Barima Agtuahene rubbished the assertions of their leader on Accra based, Happy FM.
“He (Ankabi) must watch his words because he is not an ordinary person. He is only speaking his mind, but not the position of the board, because as far as I am concerned, this will never happen,” Agtuahene said.
“We don’t support this because it is not laudable. We are urging the club to go ahead and pay the money to Duncan if the appeal falls through,” Futah, who is the second deputy to Ankabi stated.
Meanwhile, the club’s PRO, Muhib Saeed, who was on the same network said neither the board nor the management has taken a decision as regards a boycott should they fail in their appeal.
