Accra, Sept. 12, GNA - Defending League Champions Accra Hearts of Oak on Friday lodged a formal complaint at the offices of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over an alleged "unsporting manly behaviour" of Mr Kwadwo Nyantakyi of Asante Kotoko for attempting to lure Bernard Don Bortey to apparently join the "Porcupine Warriors" without prior approval of Hearts management.
A statement signed by Mr Thomas Okine, Chief Executive of Hearts, urged the GFA to use its wider powers under article 36 of its (GFA) regulation especially clause 5(a) and investigate the matter appropriately.
It also, advised Mr Nyantakyi to refrain from the alleged act in his own interest.
The statement alleged that Bortey received a phone call from Mr Nyantakyi on the evening of Tuesday, September 9, wanting to have "a transaction with him".
The player allegedly reported the matter to his CEO who contacted the Kotoko official and threatened to report his conduct to the GFA. "Nyantakyi, there and then, pleaded with him (Okine) to drop the matter which in itself is an admission of misconduct", the statement said.
Citing a similar circumstances under which Charles Taylor was transferred and alleged strange calls to some Hearts players, the statement said, Nyantakyi's conduct is reprehensible. "Indeed, any transaction with our player ought to have been done through our club, if it was an honest and genuine transaction", the statement added.
