Uncertainty surrounds the future of Hearts coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi as the Japanese trainer has been told by Hearts officials that he has been sacked but the Accra-based giants still insist the former Aspire Academy trainer is still in charge.
According to a source close to the Japanese trainer, he [Keni] has verbally been informed of the decision of the board and management to sack him and will formally be given the sack letter today.
“We are aware and Kenichi himself has been informed verbally by the management but he is only waiting for formal message from the club and hopefully it will come today,” the source said.
Meanwhile, Board and Management member Alhaji Brimah Akanbi denied the report saying the coach was at post as of 12:00am on Wednesday.
The flamboyant Japanese trainer developed a sour relationship with the management of the club following his famous facebook rant.
The former Aspire Academy tactician was totally blacklisted by the Management of the Phobians following his refusal to allow management member Vincent Sowah-Odotei into the team’s dressing room during the first half of their clash with Liberty Professionals.
Reports emerged after the side’s loss to the Dansoman-based side that the Japanese trainer was set for the sack with some of the management members claiming he has a poor home record.
The Phobians have recorded an impressive away record in the first round of the league, winning four and drawing four in their away encounters while losing three, winning three and drawing one at home.
Kenichi’s flamboyance and social interactiveness has seen the Oak Family drawing the fans to their league matches in a manner the Phobians have missed for years.
