Accra, May 19, GNA - Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has lodged a protest to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the sudden change of date from May 29 to 28, by Etoile Sportive du' Sahel of Tunisia concerning their second leg match against the Tunisians in the CAF Champions League.

The protest, which was channelled through the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and signed by Mr Ashford Tettey-Oku, Administrative Secretary of the club, seeks to express their dissatisfaction over the change of date by the Tunisians.

According to the statement, the Tunisian Football Federation in a fax message copied to CAF on May 17, confirmed the match for Souse on May 29 in accordance with Article 29 of CAF regulations.

It said latest information reaching the secretariat of the club states that the Tunisian FA has called the GFA to announce another change to Friday 28, which the club is yet to have a copy of.

According to the statement, the latest change of date is unacceptable since it is not a written agreement between the two parties, adding that the club has already struggled to obtain seats with Alitalia airlines for the trip.

The statement added that by the flight arrangements, the club is expected to reach Tunis on May 27, two days ahead of the original arrangement and that the possible two airlines, Luthansa and Alitalia have indicated that they cannot fly the team to Tunis earlier than May 26.

Hearts have therefore notified CAF and the Egyptian Football Federation of their inability to fly to Tunis earlier for the match on May 27.
