Ten man Hearts of Oak recorded a 2-1 victory over Djoliba AC in their 2015 CAF Champions League second round first leg clash at the Stade Modibo Keita in Bamako on Friday.
The Phobians took the lead through Gilbert Fiamenyo in the 49th-minute before grabbing the second in the 57th-minute through Paul Acquah.
Djoliba scored a consolation goal with less than 15 minutes to end the game, but Hearts of Oak finished the game with a man down after skipper Ruben Gnane was sent off.
Hearts of Oak will be hoping to build on the vital away win to register a more comfortable win over the Malian outfit during the second leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on May 2nd.
