Accra Hearts of Oak are wrapping up the registration of seven new players to augment their playing body ahead of the second round of the Ghana Glo Premier League.
The 20 times Ghanaian league champions endured a torrid first round of the Glo league finishing in the relegation zone with 15 points.
But Public Relations Officer of the club, Muheed Saeed says they are bringing on board these new players to beef up the team and gear towards the second round of the Glo premier league.
“We are currently working on seven new players which I know by the end of the transfer window we will wrap up their signing,” Mr. Saeed said. The Hearts PRO revealed: “The players include two of our former stars, Obed Ansah and Esme Mends together with James Bissue formerly of Sekondi Eleven Wise who is returning home from Hapoel Be'er Sheva of the Israeli Premier League, Michael Boakye of R.T.U who formerly played under Coach Duncan at Ashanti gold, Stephen Tettey of Tema Youth, Abdul Aziz of Nania FC and Joseph Bugri of Medeama Sporting Club” The man tasked with the communication section of the 2000 CAF Champions’ League winners is also assuring fans of the oak tree that the club will not be relegated at the end of the season.
“I hear people talk about the possibility of the club getting relegated and I think that is not possible. Even though we ended the first round in the relegation zone, I’m very confident that with these new players coming into the team we will begin to grind out the results needed to maintain the team in the league in the second round. We are even targeting finishing in the top half of the table,” he stressed.
