Former Asante Kotoko star man Micheal Helegbe says he has no regrets crossing carpets from the league leaders to Medeama in January.
Helegbe was instrumental in helping Kotoko to win the league title last season scoring an all-important equalizer against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak at the Accra sports stadium.
The 28-year-old could not reach an agreement over a contract extension and decided to look elsewhere.
With Kotoko on the brink of securing another league triumph in his absence, Helegbe says he cares less.
“I am really happy at Medeama and do not regret my decision to leave. Kotoko is a big club and will always win titles but as a player I have to feel appreciated and loved in an environment that will enable me give off my best,” the former Ghana U23 captain told GHANASoccernet.com
“At any point in time we have to make decision that is good for our development as a footballer and at that point I felt I made the right one.”
Helegbe will be looking to do his former side Kotoko a favour by beating Hearts of Lions when the two meet this weekend to help Kotoko lift the title.
