Herbert Mensah To Quit Kotoko

The Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Football Club has categorically stated that he will leave his post at the end of the current season. This comes in the wake of the resignation of Kotoko’s expatriate head coach, Ernst Middendorp and apparent collision course with the club’s Board of Directors. Herbert Mensah is reportedly peeved at certain actions and decisions of the Board of Directors.

The Board for instance has set up four committees to handle ticketing, financing and transfers but Hebert Mensah says he was not apprised of the existence of the committees. This has further driven the wedge between management of Kotoko and the Board of Directors headed by Mr. Paul Victor Obeng. Herbert Mensah told My JoyOnline that he cannot compromise on his decision to quit.

"I am definitely leaving Kotoko at the end of the season. I need to create a transition between my management board and the next board so we will use the time from now to prepare handing over notes. My management is seriously considering events at the club. I don’t want it to become another Kotoko management board and Board Of Directors fighting. If they become unbearable we will leave even before the end of the season.”
