Sports infrastructure expert Alhaji Salifu Sinkare, has advised the sports ministry to install FIFA-approved hybrid pitches at the Accra and Kumasi sports stadia as a lasting solution to the poor conditions at these facilities.
Speaking on the Metro Sports Show, the sports infrastructure expert said the hybrid pitch is more ideal than natural grass or astro-turf.
“It will cost Ghana about $1M to install the hybrid pitch, but it offers a solution to the problems associated with the pitches. It is easier to maintain the hybrid pitch than any other type of pitch.
"The players who also play in Europe and other parts of the world find the hybrid pitch more conducive than the others," he said.
Ghana is racing against time to find a venue for the next international games following the ban on the Baba Yara Sports Stadium by CAF.
