Black Stars goalkeeper Fatau Dauda says he is not the only goalkeeper the country can rely on for the upcoming 2014 World cup in Brazil.

He told footy-ghana.com that if he is not getting playing time for Orlando Pirates, Ghanaians should not get worried because of the availability of Stromsgodset captain Adam Kwarasey and other goalkeepers, adding that he would support whoever head coach Kwesi Appiah chooses to man the post for the 2014 World Cup.

“We have a lot of goalkeepers around so if I am not getting enough playing time, Ghanaians should not be worried. There is Kwarasey and the rest and they are all playing for their clubs, so if Kwesi Appiah gives them the opportunity in the world cup, I just have to support them. When I’m in the post Kwarasey always come to me and tell me to do my best, and I think that is what I will do if he gets the nod to be in the post. Ghanaians love me and that is why they are all talking about my lack of playing time for my team. That is cool with me. I just have to train well, because for me, I believe if I work hard I will get the chance to play again.”

Dauda also told footy-ghana.com that his proposed loan move from Orlando Pirates to either a local club back in Ghana or another club in South Africa has been blocked by his employers.

“I cannot come back to Ghana on loan, or even go to another club. It is not possible because my club has told me that I have to be patient and I will get my time. So that is what I am hoping for; to get playing time and play actively”.
