Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu says he is ready to take the backseat if he does not make the starting lineup for the game against Zambia on Friday.
The Udinese player faces competition from returnee Michael Essien who was a surprise inclusion in Kwesi Appiah’s 26-man squad to face the Chipolopolo at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Others primed for the same position include Rabiu Mohammed and Mubarak Wakaso, both having enjoyed a lot of playing time with the team recently.
Agyemang Badu who has scored 7 goals for the Stars tells XYZ sports, that he seeks the interest of the nation first, and is therefore ready to respect the coaches’ decision on who starts the game.
He said: “It’s the manager who decides. The most important thing is that whoever starts, we have to think about the interest of the nation. I am ever ready for any role whether I start from the bench or start the game. The countries interest comes before our personal interest. The most important thing is if I get the chance to come on the pitch I will prove it. I am relaxed and looking forward to the game.”
