Uganda’s head coach, Milutin Sredojevic says he has a lot of respect for his Ghana counterpart, Kwesi Appiah.

He told TV3 in an interview that he believes that Ghanaians have been too harsh in their criticism of Appiah, whom according to him has taken the Black Stars far, despite the disappointment of Brazil.

“I have great respect for Kwesi Appiah despite the fact that Ghanaians are very harsh towards him. He has taken the team very far and deserves my respect.”

Sredojevic noted that the Cranes would be up against a determined Ghana, who he describes as the flagbearers of football on the African continent and a team who would be motivated because of the disappointment of the 2014 World Cup.

He added that the game would serve as a measure of how far the Cranes have reached in their development as a team

“For Ghana, we already know who they are and they are the flagbearers of football on this continent. It is a game where we are supposed to play against a team that would be motivated after the disappointments of Brazil to show to the people of Ghana that what has happened has no connection with what should be. On the other side we are coming with the intention of finding where we have reached as a team. I cannot reveal totally everything, but we will stretch ourselves to see where we are.”
