HJK Helsinki defender Gideon Baah is happy with his exploits with the club but says he is prepared to move on.

The 24-year-old joined Finish side Honka FC from local giants Asante Kotoko in 2013, before moving to his current outfit the following year after a string of fine performances.

The versatile central defender, who also plays at left-back and in midfield, gained prominence when he helped HJK reach the group stage of the 2014-15 Europa League, scoring two times.

“It was really tough [making a decision to come to Finland],” Baah told xtheline.

“Coming over here, I was thinking I made the right decision because I had played my football in Ghana and I wanted to experience some European football. I was thinking it was unfortunate to start in Finland but it’s not [as] bad as I thought.

“I think I have made my name here and I would like to go a step further in my career. Maybe, time will tell.

“Apart from the cold, it’s ok [here]. The football is great as well because it’s the biggest club in Finland. I’m really privileged to play here. I think it’s a really good step because it’s the most-watched club here in Finland and it’s great to be part of that.”

Baah once had trial at Chelsea in 2007 and is currently on the radar of Spanish giants Barcelona, according to reports.

He made his Black Stars debut in a 1-1 friendly draw with Canada last October.
