Ashanti Gold Sporting Club head Coach Bashir Hayford insists he has not signed a contract extension with the Obuasi based outfit as claimed by the club’s CEO Kudjo Fianoo.
The reigning Ghana Premier League best coach agreed to a new three-year contract extension during a meeting with the Board of AngloGold Ashanti in November but never signed a contract.
“We have discussed the contract but I have not seen it so I have not signed any document. My contact expired way back in July. But, because of my cordial relationship with the management I am working with, I decided to continue,” Hayford Starr Sports.
“I went to the Mines with my CEO Kudjo Fianoo but we discussed the contract extension but they are yet to bring it for me to study and append my signature. Once the team has qualified for Africa, it is very prudent for me to stay,” he added.
The former Asante Kotoko Coach says he was verbally offered the new deal after guiding Ashanti Gold to end their 19-year wait for a Ghana Premier League title last season.
