Ex-Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah is confident he has set the team on a solid foundation required for others to build on towards a successful future.
The former National Team Captain in a farewell message titled: “Thank You, Ghana”, said: “I have always felt immense pride in my association with the senior national team, as a player and a coach, and served diligently throughout my coaching contract which expired on Tuesday, December 31, 2019.”
The Ghana Football Association last week parted ways with the coach after dissolving the technical staff of all the national teams to allow for a new beginning.
Kwesi Appiah used the opportunity to thank President Nana Akufo-Addo, the sports ministry, the GFA and the fans “for all the support even in difficult times.”
He added: “My deepest gratitude to the players who I believe will continue to fight on the pitch to make Ghana proud.”
