Kumasi Asante Kotoko?s flamboyant Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Herbert Mensah says that contrary to the assertion that the activities of the so-called concerned supporters would distract his attention, he remains unruffled, unshaken and highly focussed as far as Kumasi Asante Kotoko is concerned.
Speaking to Sometimer Otuo-Acheampong on Fox Sports this morning, Mr. Mensah declared that the task ahead of him and the Kotoko family demands total commitment and the zeal to excel in Africa, as well as the domestic league and therefore, there must little room for such disgruntled individuals, whose ambition it is to hurt Kotoko. According to Mr. Herbert Mensah, Otumfuo has given them (Kotoko Management) a task to execute on his (Otumfuo?s) behalf and nothing would distract their attention as far as projecting Kotoko into the international spotlight is concerned. ?What is important is to provide Coach Ralf Zumdich and the playing-body with the necessary motivation so as to bring back smiles on the faces of the numerous Kotoko supporters who have suffered for far too long, that?s what I?m concerned about?, he said.
Mr. Mensah was very optimistic about the chances of Kotoko in their Sunday?s CAF CUP semi-final clash with A.S. Police of Congo, who reports say are a very good side, by all standards. The Chief Executive, however, believes in the ability of the Kotoko supporters and the entire soccer fans in Ghana to fill the Kumasi Sports Stadium to psychologically intimidate their opponents with the colour-red.
