Ghana and Marseille striker Jordan Ayew says that he does not see himself as a bad apple and points out that Mario Balotelli does far worse thing than him.

The son of legend Abedi Pele has promised to change his ways urging his critics to observe the changes in him henceforth.

The 21-year-old has been in the news for all the wrong reasons after Marseille assistant coach Frank Passi openly criticised him for an altercation with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder David Beckham last week.

But the third son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele has defended his reputation and insists he is not a mischief-maker like Mario Balotelli.

“My dad (Abedi Pele) is the first one to ask me not to stir things up,” he told L’Equipe.

“But he was a footballer, he knows what happens on the pitch.

“I think it’s a bit too much. In Paris, because it was Beckham, the affair took on impossible proportions. If it had been [PSG's Clement] Chantome or whoever else, it wouldn’t have been talked about.

“What do I honestly do? Not half of what Balotelli does, for example.

“In reality, I do nothing. Now, I’m going to shut up, you’ll see, to the end of the season,” he said.

Ayew recently retired temporarily from the Ghanaian national team last week after he was dropped from the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
