Asante Kotoko coach David Duncan has hinted that he is ready to leave the club if the management decides to fire him. However, he claims that there is more to the club’s woes than how people see it.

Kotoko fans have been calling for his removal following Sunday’s 3-0 loss at home to visiting Berekum Chelsea.

“I am not the one who said anything about losing bonus or some players not showing commitment. So if management, who are insiders, feel there is more to our failure this season, then that’s fine,” Duncan said.

Despite guiding the Porcupine Warriors to the final of the FA Cup, the former Hearts and Free State Stars coach has struggled to supervise the reigning league champions in the ongoing campaign, with the Kumasi-based side now in 10th position after 22 match days.

“I don’t want to state anything in specific terms but you are mature and can understand what I am driving at. I would only focus on my area of specialisation (coaching) but, if the management decides that I should go then fine I would accept that,” he added.

Kotoko were kicked out of the Caf Champions League by Algerian side MC El Eulma. However, they hope to claim silverware this season after reaching the final of the MTN FA Cup, which they will play against Medeama SC on August 30.
