In a humiliating snub to supporters of Accra Hearts of Oak, board member Commodore Mensah says he has no regrets voting for the dismissal of ex-coach David Duncan despite the sacking leading to shambolic dwindling of the fortunes of the Accra-based giants.

Hearts of Oak supporters are overly angry over the sacking of Duncan which they claims is leading to their recent bad results but Mensah says he will sack the high-performing coach again if he get another chance.

The departure of the popular coach has been linked with the shambolic results the Phobians have had since the departure of Duncan but for the first time the board has defended its surprising sacking of the coach in November.

The club’s board unanimously agreed to part ways with the former Ghana U23 coach in a move which was widely condemned by their followers.

His replacement Mohammed Polo has struggled to get the results and that has led to some fans calling for the re-appointment of Duncan.

But Mensah, a former board chairman, has defended the decision of the board and insisted Duncan deserved to be fired.

“Yes I voted Duncan should go and I would do it again,” Commodore told Accra-based Happy FM.

“As at that point it was done in the interest of the team and I will always do things in the interest of Hearts and not to please the masses.

“Duncan was appointed by the club and if the club say he should go what is the big deal.”

Hearts have slipped to fourth on the league table after a chain of defeat to Wa All Stars.
